What is Latisse®?

Are you unhappy with your thin and sparse eyelashes? If so, Latisse® may be able to help. Latisse® is an FDA-approved treatment to grow thicker and fuller eyelashes. Patients should apply this topical solution each night for the best results. If a patient were to stop using Latisse®, their lashes would simply return to their natural appearance. After beginning Latisse® treatment, patients will first begin to see changes in the length of their lashes. They will then gradually thicken and darken with time. Full effects can often be seen after 16 weeks.

If you are not happy with the appearance of your lashes, whether it be because they are too light, too short, or too thin, Latisse bimatoprost ophthalmic solution is an FDA-approved treatment to grow and improve the appearance of the lashes. How Latisse® Works 

The active ingredient in Latisse® extends the normal eyelash growth cycle and increases the number of individual eyelashes that grow. The result is longer, lusher, darker eyelashes that don’t require eyelash curlers or tons of mascara. Results from Latisse® appear gradually, as the newer, enhanced eyelashes grow in and replace your old lashes. In as little as 4 weeks, you should begin to notice your lashes becoming thicker and fuller. These improvements will continue as your lashes continue to grow with results peaking around 16 weeks of use. To prevent your lashes from returning to their pre-treatment appearance, you will need to continue the use of Latisse®. 

How to Apply

Patients should apply the solution to their upper lash line. It is important to only use the sterile applicators supplied with the product. Patients should remove contact lenses before applying Latisse®. Do not apply Latisse® to the lower lid of the eye.

Side-Effects

The most common side effects include itching and or redness of the eyes. There is also a chance that the eyelid skin or iris may permanently darken in color. A consultation with Dr. Rocheford can allow for further discussion of potential side effects and costs.
