This is a 50-year-old woman who is an avid exerciser who is from Roseville, Minnesota. She was bothered by her inability to loose the fat in her abdomen and back despite vigorous exercise and diet. She underwent flank liposuction and abdominoplasty. Postoperatively, she was very happy with her new contours.

This is a 40-year-old woman from River Falls, Wisconsin who was interested in abdominoplasty. She had three children. Two of her children were delivered via Cesarean section. Prior to surgery, she had abdominal wall laxity and stretch marks above and below the umbilicus.

Postoperatively, the patient was very happy with her result. She had much improved abdominal contour and she had liposuction of the flanks as well and much improved flank contour.

She did have some blistering as the result of the Steri-Strips on her lower abdominal incision which you can see some darkened spots still on her lower abdominal wall. This should resolve in time.

This is a 58-year-old woman who is from Woodbury, Minnesota who came in interested in abdominoplasty and liposuction of the flanks. She did have a previous Pfannenstiel incision. She did not have significant stria of the abdomen. She underwent full abdominoplasty combined with flank liposuction. At the time of surgery, she had 3 liters aspirated from the flank area. Her abdominal specimen weighed 725 g. Postoperatively, the patient was very pleased with her result. She is able to fit into her own clothing with more looseness and actually has down a pant size. She is very happy with her result.

This is a 35-year-old patient from Maplewood, Minnesota who presented, interested in liposuction of the abdomen, flanks or “muffin top” and the thighs. She underwent liposuction of the above-listed areas. At the time of her liposuction, she had 2800 cc removed from the flanks or back area. She had 1000 cc removed from the inner thighs total and 2500 cc removed from the abdomen. Following her surgery, she wore compression garment full time for the first 2 weeks and during the day for the final 4 weeks. She was very pleased with her result. She went from wearing size 8 pants to a size 4 pants.

This is a 32-year-old female who presented to the office interested in body contouring. Because she had not yet had children and was planning to have children, we decided to proceed with liposuction instead of an abdominoplasty. The patient underwent full abdominal liposuction and flank liposuction. At the time of her surgery, she had a total of 14 L suctioned. Postoperatively, the patient was very pleased with her contour. She had excellent skin retraction. She now feels very comfortable tucking in shirts and wearing pants that have a belt. The patient had stretch marks from her pregnancies as well as some fatty tissue present on the flanks. At the time of her surgery, she had 3800 cc of tissue aspirated. The abdominoplasty specimen weighed 851 grams. Following her surgery, she was very happy with the results although not every stretch mark could be removed. The majority of the stretch marks were below the belly button and her scar was not visible in the type of underwear she chose to wear or in her swimsuit.

This is a 23-year-old female who underwent a gastric bypass 2 years prior to her presentation. She is from Burnsville, Minnesota. Following her gastric bypass, she lost 206 pounds. She maintained her weight loss for over a year prior to her evaluation. She is interested in rejuvenation of abdomen and legs and the back area. The patient underwent a stage approach to rejuvenation of multiple areas. First, she underwent a belt lipectomy, which is essentially the same as an abdominoplasty on the back. Following her belt lipectomy, she underwent liposuction of the inner and outer thighs. Following her three procedures, she was ecstatic regarding her results. She no longer considers herself “a fat person.” She felt comfortable wearing swimsuits and shorts, which she had previously felt uncomfortable wearing. She went from wearing a size 11-12 pants to a 5-6 pants.
