Although Summer is over, you should continue to protect your skin through the Winter as well. Unfortunately, despite the prevalence of sun awareness campaigns, people still tend to forget how important it is to protect oneself from the sun’s damaging UV rays.  Not only does sun damage cause wrinkles, fine lines, and hyperpigmentation – a beauty nightmare – but, just a single burn can significantly increase your odds of getting skin cancer.

While we certainly aren’t advocating avoiding the sun, here at Rocheford Plastic Surgery (located in Woodbury, Minnesota and serving the Minneapolis-St. Paul areas), we provide our patients with the tools they need to stay safe, healthy, and sun damage-free all throughout the year.

Here’s what you need to know about protecting your skin from sun damage:

  • Always, always, always apply sunscreen.  Make sure that you’re wearing sun protection of at least SPF 30 or higher (got pale skin?  Make it 50).  Don’t just apply on a sunny day; make sure you’re coated during those cloudy days, as you can still get a sunburn.
  • Wear sunglasses with UV coating on lenses to protect the skin around your eyes.
  • Keep your skin hydrated with a good moisturizer.
  • If you have brown spots or wrinkles as a result of a Summer full of sun activities, then we have facial treatments and peels that are designed to fade away these complexion woes.  At Rocheford Plastic Surgery, Dr. Rocheford is pleased to offer a range of treatments that are designed to produce your most youthful-looking, natural self ever.

Don’t let the sun rob you of your youthful skin and glow.  No matter how much sun damage you have, there’s a solution for you waiting at Rocheford Plastic Surgery.  Schedule a consultation with Dr. Rocheford at her Woodbury, MN location today 651-739-1100.
