Juvederm vs. Juvederm Voluma

Juvederm vs. Juvederm VolumaQuick: Envision a naturally youthful face.  Do you see flawless skin? A smooth surface that’s practically devoid of wrinkles?  Voluminous cheeks that looking healthy and firm?

That’s the kind of face that Juvederm and Juvederm Voluma treatments can help you achieve!

Juvederm vs Juvederm Voluma

For many clients, it’s simply not enough to undergo Botox injections to smooth away wrinkles and fine lines.  Truly youthful-looking people have firm yet elastic skin, as well as volume in their cheeks.  As we age, that volume tends to disappear – and that’s precisely why treating wrinkles alone isn’t going to give you the most natural look possible.

That’s where Juvederm and Juvederm Voluma come into play.  Allergan developed both products for individual use, or to be combined with other injectables, for natural-looking results.  Juvederm was the first hyaluronic acid filler approved by the FDA for the treatment of wrinkles and folds.  Hyaluronic acid is a natural compound found within the body – and when it’s injected into the treatment site, it can kick-start the production of collagen and elastin.  This helps promote long-term results; in fact, the results from Juvederm can last for 12 to 18 months.

While Juvederm is ideal smoothing out wrinkles and folds in the perioral and lip area, Juvederm Voluma can help you achieve the kind of cheek volume that’s visible on youthful faces. Voluma is also hyaluronic dermal filler, but it utilizes more extensive cross-linking of fibers that make it thicker. This helps provide volume and lift to the cheeks, while promoting the production of the body’s collagen levels.  Voluma can also be used to contour the natural features of a client’s face.  This treatment can produce long-term results, with many patients seeing results lasting as long as two years.

Like Juvederm, Voluma has been approved by the FDA to treat the loss of facial volume within the cheek areas.  Both Juvederm and Juvederm Voluma come with few side effects; most clients report feeling some discomfort and redness at the injection site.  Juvederm Voluma should only be used on the cheek areas, as that is where it is FDA approved for use.
