America's most popular cosmetic treatment! BOTOX® Cosmetic is used to diminish facial wrinkles caused by muscle activity. It is best for lines between the brow (frown lines), the horizontal lines of the forehead, and lines around the eyes. It can also be used conservatively in other areas of the face. Lines present at rest may or may not improve. BOTOX® Cosmetic is safe. It has been used for over 11 years in this country and is FDA-approved.

It has been used to treat muscle spasms in children with cerebral palsy and strabismus (crossed eyes). Safety of any drug is dependent on dose. BOTOX® Cosmetic is used in very small doses, approximately one-tenth of the normal dose used to treat children with muscle spasticity.

The treatment is just a few tiny injections and can be done on the day of your appointment. The results will not be visible for 2-7 days following treatment. The effects last approximately 3 - 5 months and treatments are usually repeated when your muscle activity returns.

The normal cosmetic dose is 20 - 25 units per area. An area is defined as the frown (between the brows), the forehead, the crow's feet (both sides).
